June 12, 2020 - Haul Out in Puerto Vallarta
Raven got an early start on the haul and inspection process. Most of this day will be spent getting the bottom washed, positioning and set up in a stall. Ed West will start an initial survey of the boat, start taking the failed drive system apart, that will turn into a series of discoveries.
Fortunately our crew of three did an awesome job getting Raven to a safe port. Or as Captain Nikolay put it:
We were 3 on board
1 Bulgarian guy- grew up in a place where there were no marine stores, you have to fix it yourself.
2 A guy working on race cars fixing them with whatever you can find in the desert
3 A Mexican guy- wire, tape and hose clamps, some hammering
Perfect team for damage control. And when your feet get wet... Damage control! And 150 decibel siren going off “high water alarm”-fun...
