May 22, 2020 - Arrive Colon, Panama (seven days after departing Key Largo).
Seven days after leaving Key Largo - the boat and crew arrive safely at Colon, Panama and anchor in the holding area outside Shelter Bay Marina.
It's been a lumpy crossing of the Caribbean Sea and there were concerns about having adequate drinking water. While headed towards Cuba, in the Straits of Florida, the water maker performed well in calm waters. But in the lumpy waters of the Caribbean, it was losing suction due to air getting to the low pressure pump.
Captain Nikolay takes a more direct route to Colon, cutting closer to Nicaragua than desired, to get to Colon and a potential water source should the water maker continue to be uncooperative. Fortunately they are able to make all the water needed, filling the water tanks, along with two of the 55 gallon barrels, leaving the other six for fuel.
