November 20, 2020 - Next round of repairs .....
Monday was a crazy day. Starts with a delay getting the boat splashed at CSR. Since we are delayed, I run up to Waypoint Marine to collect our tender that has been serviced and motor it down to CSR.
We are finally splashed at 1:30 and make sure to get a wash-down of the topsides to remove the boat yard dust/debris. We head off at 2:30 to Morrisons, with tender in tow, to take on 1,328 gallon of fuel, fill the water tanks and perform a pump-out. From there we back track to Miller and Miller for our next round of repairs. And we pick-up the tender and store it on the boat deck making for a late night finish.
Tuesday was another crazy day. We needed to get back to the boat ASAP to turn it around so the port side (and davit) is dockside. Then the onslaught of work begins:
- Gallery Marine finishing up engine/generator service (coolant and sound dampening panels)
- S-3 Maritime testing the stabilizers (which required rocking the boat at dock)
- Yacht Services hanging the flybridge door (hoisted up with the davit)
- Galley counter tops being inspected
- Joe Miller and I discussing the next round of repair plans:
· Replace Asko Washer/Dryer
· Replace sound dampening material for 6 kW – salt water damage
· Replace two stern cleats with low profile or pop-up cleats (Seasmart, Accon, ?)
· Weld repair, clean and paint engine/Balmar belt guard
· Check port windlass AutoAnchor – Display shows SEnS error message
· Check bow thruster wiring for proper connectivity (loose battery terminal)
· Check hydraulic steering pressure – pressure and fluid are low
· Investigate mystery toggle switch on flybridge
· Add Balmar fuse close to the alternator
· Make two stainless cover plates for down rigger
· Maretron DSM410 in pilot house and master cabin (Anchor watch, wind speed, depth)
· Stereo – add speakers to pilot house (hold off on the USB or any other change)
· Tighten port faucet at swim step
· Torrid water heater - add mixing valve (installed 2018)
· Upgrade wash down pump to get more pressure (hold off)
Good news for the week is that the engine and 25 kW generator work is complete! Stabilizers are functioning and the flybridge hatch track and bearings are in and working!
And our dry suit has found a new home!
