 July 20, 2021- Taku Harbor

Our trip up to Taku was easy going EXCEPT for a fleet of gil netters along the shore and near the entrance of the harbor.  After contacting Keisha Dawn, we were advised to go around him to the west to clear the nets and fleet.

We found again a lovely bay with a bunch of commercial crab pots at both ends near the streams.

Anchoring at the south end of the bay we found plenty of room with a lovely view.  The public dock next to us had nets for the fish boats, some of which came in for the night and rotated nets.  And the next day another wave of boats came in to perform net exchanges on the dock.

During the evening, a Wildlife Trooper boat was in the harbor and checking in with some of the fish boats.

We had a lovely dinner and quiet evening.  The next morning we managed to get a row around the bay in before our departure.
