 July 21 to July 23, 2021- Juneau

The trip to Juneau was pleasant, however, we had to dodge fishing boats and their strung-out nets.  As we neared Aurora boat basin the winds started gusting to 20 kts and the current in the area was flowing making our docking a challenge.

We settled into an alternate location, and shortly after we arrived, Greg and Mare on Moonstruck tied up next to us making for an easy time to get together and socialize.  We had great halibut meals that Greg prepared from his fishing and a diner out on our anniversary at In Bocca al Lupo (we had been cautioned to avoid Salt at this time). We also checked out The Hangar eating at Alaska Fish and Chips and also Tracy’s King Crab Shack.

We walked the town before the cruise ship arrived and took in the sights of Juneau.  On Friday I cleaned all the sea strainers (strbd engine strainer had Florida shells in it) and Evan Morgan (518-866-6129) of Sea and Mountain Mechanical performed an oil and filter change for us and checked out our generators.  We also had a brief chat with Mark from Electrotech.

Our prize purchase was a Tlingit paddle with a Raven on it to place in the pilot house!
