August 10 to 12, 2021 - Petersburg

Busy stay at Petersburg: picking up provisions, clean the starboard engine sea strainer, changed impellers on both generators, hair cut at Roni’s Hair Design, and a trip to the Post Office to send off bill payments.

Had an awesome bacon wrapped halibut dinner and brownies for Geary’s birthday!

Lunch and bakery products from Salty Pantry are delightful and filling!

The town has a definite Norwegian heritage with a busy fishing industry hard at work.  The remnants from the fish processing plant provide food/bait for fish.  And the local fisherman troll the waters right outside the plant. And the sea lions linger near the fish processing plant to grab a meal as well!

To make the best of the currents in Wrangell Narrows, we left at 4:30 AM, Civil Twilight.  To make it more challenging, we also had fog for the first hour.  However, once the fog lifted, and we had sun rise, the trip was easy going providing an early arrival at Wrangell.
