August 15 to 16 - Meyers Chuck
A quaint community. Upon arrival, the public dock was full, so we anchored out in the bay. As it was near high tide, it seemed the perfect opportunity to motor around the area checking out all the houses built on the surrounding rock islets. Even in the tender, we had to be cautious and keep a bow watch. The next morning, we saw Cassy delivering cinnamon rolls to a boat next to us, so we waved her down, and jackpot, she had four extra rolls to offer!
We took a walk about the area with the trail weaving around the various homes along the shore. On our return, we met a Mr. Meyer and found out from him that Coho could be had right outside the entrance. We grab our fishing gear and out we went and caught our first fish in about 45 minutes – unfortunately it was a pink salmon, not very good eating. We ventured out the next day and caught a small fry and another pink – both of which we released.
