August 27, 2021 - Blind Channel

It was great to be back at Blind Channel, with its crystal-clear water, and take in a wonderful dinner.  The staff was happy to have the US boats there and this was their first night where they were completely full of boats!

We timed our departure from Blind Channel to make Seymour Narrows, going with a bit of current, working towards slack at Cape Mudge.  We should have been more aggressive as we made Seymour going with less than 2 kts and found ourselves bucking the current in Discovery Passage.

As we continued south into the Strait of Georgia, we had calm wind and waters, making for an easy transit.  We decided to take advantage of the conditions and press on to Nanoose Harbour.  En-route we came across whales feeding and a very tall pole poking out of the water near Ballenas Island.

While we had a long day, with a late arrival, it positioned us for making the morning slack at Dodd Narrows and entry into the Gulf Islands.
