September 22 and September 23, 2021 - Stuart Island, San Juan Islands

We left Sucia heading out along the Finger Islands when we were alerted to a pod of transient Orca hunting immediately outside of the Fingers.  We throttled back and sat idle watching the whales who were circled by whale watching boats outside the finger islands.  It was quite a treat to be able to take in this site, however, time dictated that we move along so we backed-tracked and went out along the north side of the island as we made way to Stuart Island.  En-route we were treated to a lovely view of Mount Baker.

Our anchorage at Prevost Harbor, while crowded, worked out well.  The next day. the good weather continued, giving us a pleasant day for a hike out to the Turn Point Lighthouse.  We managed to arrive after a tour group giving us a private setting for a lovely lunch at the Lighthouse.
