 September 23, 2021 - Lake Washington

We repositioned Raven to Queen City Yacht Club for our annual shore power electrical check and to have some work performed.  Kevin, from Gallery Marine, came by for our annual mechanical check-up and resolved some mysteries with our 6 kW generator.

We have had this situation where certain appliances would not run off the 6 kW and now I had a new problem (after sucking up a jelly) of our temperature gage reading high (190 F) - then dropping back to normal (170 F).  Turns out the generator was running a bit fast generating a higher than normal frequency, 64 hertz, versus 59.5 - 62.5 hertz.  And our sending unit was out of calibration resulting in an incorrect reading to the gauge in the pilot house.  It was actually dithering around 170 F versus reaching 190 F.  (Amazing what you can sort out with an infrared temperature gun).

After our annual maintenance of the engine, and generators. it was out to Lake Washington to do an engine run-up and update our performance curves.

Now over to Miller and Miller to install our new cockpit enclosure doors and then to S-3 for a tune-up of the get-home drive!
