December 11, 2021 - Poulsbo - Poulsbo Yacht Club Lighted Ships Parade
We left S-3 Maritime on Thursday and headed to Liberty Bay in preparation for the Lighted Ships Parade. We managed to take a walk down the lighted streets of Poulsbo and shared dinner with our friends Carl and Melody.
On Saturday our two families joined in on the PYC Lighted Ships Parade in Liberty Bay! The members of PYC were gracious and allowed us to join this fun evening. We had planned to stay at the PYC reciprocal dock however we changed our plan after a failed docking in gusts up to 30kts and an inadvertent autopilot error, and chose to anchor in Manzanita Bay after the event.
Even though the NWS had a Small Craft Advisory out for the evening, the fleet of 16 boats carried on and received welcoming cheers and lights from shore, and even some fireworks.
On Sunday we crossed Puget Sound to Shilshole Marina where we planned to have Raven's bottom inspected and the zincs changed. The weather system persisted with 45kt winds in the Sound and 20kt gusts as we side-tied at the marina.
