May 19 - May 22, 2022 - Petersburg

We backtracked to Petersburg to take in their annual Nordic Festival.  It was going to be a clear, sunny, series of days which seemed to be perfect conditions to enjoy the festival.  While we were looking forward to getting more time at anchor, it was hard to pass up on the weather to experience this festival.  AND we could visit Roni Hair Design for haircuts, plus get cell service and take care of some business.

While in Petersburg we bicycled around Sand Beach Loop and down to the Scow Bay Loop.  I also managed to take time to do some housekeeping chores such as cleaning of sea strainers.

The festival was very enjoyable and the weather was perfect for the events.  We took in the opening ceremonies with the school children dancing in the street along with the locals dressed as Vikings and Valkyries.  The events included activities such as:a  Pageant, street dancing, tug-of-war, herring toss competition, a halibut filet demo and a sled pull competition.  All culminating in a Seafood Bake at Sandy Beach.

A wonderful time at the Festival - ready to move on!
