July 19,  2022 - Exchange Cove

We headed out in the morning with the intent of fishing a spot where we had seen boats fishing during our last transit of Sumner Strait, just off Zarembo Island (56˚ 22.4˙ / 133˚ 5.7˙).  We shared our plan with Koinonia who decided to join us on their transit to Alvin Bay.

We arrived at the location a bit early and had quite a bit of current (~2 kts) when we dropped the anchor.  Waiting for a bit for the current to settle, we dropped hooks in the water.  After about an hour we caught the first fish (34”).  Shortly after Mark caught his first fish (31”).  We gave it a bit more time but after about 3 hours we all agreed it was time to move on.  Just as Mark was pulling up his hook, he caught a second fish (44”).  Good day for both of us.  We continued to Exchange Cove anchoring near the mouth and got on with the cleaning and bagging of our catch.
