July 24, 2022 - East Inlet
With northwest gale like conditions forecasted for the next few days in the open waters, and building as the week goes by, we decided to head down Grenville Channel, getting as far south and inland as possible to get out of the winds.
We left in a rain/mist with 1 – 2-mile visibility and occasional 20 kt gusts. But, going against the current, and the wind, the sea conditions were not too lumpy making for a pleasant transit to East Inlet.
Pretty uneventful cruise to East Inlet with conditions calming as we went down Grenville Channel. Arrived in calm conditions, overcast and light drizzle, with a boat anchored in our preferred spot. We dropped the hook by the mouth of the inlet knowing we would want to get an early start in the morning, and this would be a shorter distance to exit.
