August 19,  2022 - Gorge Harbour

We left Octopus Islands headed for Beazley Passage, still going with a light current.  As we approached Beazley, we made a Securite call announcing our intent to transit the passage when shortly we had a 60’ Selene, Northern, come powering up through the passage with a large OA, Power of Two, looking like they were doing the same.  We hailed Power of Twowho said they were committed and apologized for cutting us off.  As we circled, the 44’ Catalina behind us, towing their large fish boat, hailed and asked us about our intentions.  I explained we were waiting for the traffic to which he responded there was room for two boats in the pass.  Power of Two cut in and apologized again.  Later, Northern hailed Power of Two and asked about our AIS signal stating he thought we were further up the channel, Power of Two said they were zoomed in and were not looking too far ahead.  A VERY FRUSTRATING behavior by these two boats as neither had sighted down the pass before making their entrance nor called a Securite.

Scooter had left Rebecca Spit and was headed across Sutil Channel following just a few minutes behind us.  We set an anchor near the marina with Scooter rafting up to us.  Soon we were all set for a nice dinner aboard Raven of halibut and salmon.

The next day we both moved to the docks which allowed for some housekeeping chores and another dinner on Raven.  Nikki invited Carl, from another Kady Bolero to dinner and we had a pleasant dinner for five.
