 May 25, 2023 - Forit Bay

We left Pruth Bay through Meay Inlet, entering Hakai Passage from behind Rattenbury Island.  We could see that that Queen Charlotte Sound was foggy and that it was clearing as we made our way into Fitz Hugh Sound.  Soon we spotted whales along Hecate Island and Bayly Point in Hakai Passage and later in Fitz Hugh Sound.  Our travel up the sound was uneventful with our biggest accomplishment was finding the process to calibrate the UDST800 sounder to provide proper speed in water and drift information.

With hardly any other boats in the area, we made our way to Forit Bay and settled in the center of the bay for the night.  Lois managed to check out the sky in the middle of the night a got a good view of the Milky Way.  But as we awoke in the morning we had cloud cover, with a light mist.
