May 5 & 6, 2023 - Bedwell Cove
We considered Belcarra Bay as it would cut the distance for us to tender to Deep Cove from 2 miles to 1 mile but feared it too may be a DAA similar to Deep Cove. That left Bedwell Cove for us to anchor. We found a nice spot in about 75’ of water in the middle of the Cove and anchored there. Closer to the head were six sailboats anchored along with a couple of smaller powerboats.
After settling in we lowered the tender and motored back to DCYC where Karl had arranged a slip where we could dock our tender. Allison and Roger met us at the slip to help tie us up to the dock. A short ride up the hill and we were at the Parker’s residence. We had a lovely time and a fantastic roast beef dinner prepared by Karl and Allison. As it was starting to get dark it was time to head back to Raven for the evening.
Saturday, we headed back to DCYC to board Par Coeur and partake in the Sailpast festivities. A bit of a misty day but not too cold. With the combination of weather and new members who joined during COVID, the event has fewer participants than in the past. It was still a nice event with Karl very happy to finally be taking Par Coeur out since last fall. The event wrapped up with food and drink at the clubhouse in a big social gathering.
