May 7, 2023 - Deep Cove Yacht Club
With the conclusion of Sailpast we repositioned back to DCYC and Geary took Allison up on her recommended hike up to Quarry Rock which would offer amazing views of the area. The Quarry Rock Trail was very busy with groups of people, both young and old, all variations or ethnic backgrounds, traveling the trail. Apparently, there are a lot of visitors to Deep Cove to enjoy the parks and hiking trails. After traveling the 2.2 km we arrived at the top of Quarry Rock and a fantastic panoramic view. After making our way back down, it was over to the Parkers home for another fine dinner, a celebration of Karl’s 72nd birthday, and a very late night.
Prior to our repositioning on Monday to Burrard YC, Allison wanted to share a brief walk-through Cates Park. We had a lovely 1 mile walk through the park which also has beach access. Interesting sight to see a canoe pass by with a load of tourists on board.
