June 10, 2023 - Ruth Island Cove
Transit across Frederick Sound in light mist and fog (~1.5m visibility). We settled into the cove, where four other boats were already at anchor, without a problem. Unsure of the crabbing, we set one trap to test for crab, would we pull up any or would the trap be loaded. After setting the trap we tendered up to the waterfall, checking out the shoreline. After the tide change, we pulled up the trap and found tow two crab. With the small haul we decided to set both traps and let them soak overnight. After setting the traps, Geary took a row around the bay before showering and dinner.
The next morning, we pulled the crab traps with four in one trap and seven in the other! We picked out our six, dispatched them and cooked them before raising anchor.
