June 12, 2023 - Takatz Bay
We decided to press on so that we could catch up with Ellipsis, in Icy Strait, before we both had to head our separate ways. We headed out under misty conditions which soon began to clear. We rode the Ebb out of Frederick Sound and caught the flood in Chatham Strait. Halfway between Portage Bay and Pinta Point we came across a group of humpback whales – always an amazing site. Reaching Point Gardner we could see the striking mountains of Baranof Island – a gorgeous site. And pulling into Takatz, we were able to take the spot in front of the waterfall – quite the treat to gaze at the fall and enjoy the sound of the cascading waters.
