June 23, 2023 - Tracy Arm

We had an easy cruise to Tracy Arm, entering on a slack at noon, spotting many bergy bits as we neared the entrance near noon.  With favorable weather conditions (sunny skies) we decided to press on to Sawyer Glacier and had a fantastic day for the trip with many bergy bits along the way.  We arrived at South Sawyer at 3:30 PM and found LOTS of seals resting on the crowded bergy field.  We went as far as we felt comfortable (N57˚ 50.935˙ / W 133˚ 07.187˙) with the bergy bits and not wanting to disturb the seal.  We then may our way to North Sawyer Glacier for a look before heading back at 4:15 PM.  As we headed back, we could see the arrival of high clouds, which continued to build as we reached our anchorage.  Pressing on while we had the good weather turned out to be a good decision!

Between the seals resting on many bergy bits, and the bergy bits, we could go no farther
