June 6, 2023 - Ratz Bay

After an early start of retrieving the crab pot, dispatching, and cooking six crabs and pulling up the tender, we got underway.  We travelled up Clarence Strait under settled conditions making for a very easy transit.  With the settled conditions, we decided to continue up the strait in lieu of transiting through Zimovia Strait.  This would position us for an easier route to our halibut fishing spot in Sumner Strait.  We found an acceptable anchorage in Ratz Bay, a new place we had not tried.  It felt somewhat exposed however the only issue we had was with rollers from a passing cruise ship.  As we pulled in Lois spotted a doe and a very, very, small fawn grazing on a point in the bay.  We settled into the south corner and enjoyed the views out over Clarence Strait.
