July 26, 2023 - San Juan Islands - Point Pybus

Given the settled conditions, we decided to try a more exposed anchorage with a great view.  Pulling into San Juan Islands, there was one small cruise boat anchored in the bay.  Soon his tender and guests returned from their beach walk and headed off to Cannery Cove leaving this bay to us.  We dropped the rowboat and took turns touring the bay.  Lois had a very unsettling situation on her row, a sea lion was following and kept closing on her and surfaced to within 15’ of her stern!  Soon, the small swells settled down and gave us flat water conditions for a peaceful evening, an amazing sunset and quiet night at anchorage.  This anchorage provided stunning views looking SW towards the mountains over Cannery Cove and looking to the E towards the Brothers and the mainland.
