August 2, 2023 - Petersburg

We awoke to a foggy morning, making our transit to Petersburg with radar, fortunately, when we arrived at Petersburg the fog in the channel was had lifted enabling docking in clear conditions.  As we entered the channel, Moonstruck was just leaving and heading to LeConte.  We quickly settled in and took care of housekeeping chores, including a trip to the library for wi-fi and software updates.  Lois checked out the lovely art exhibits such at the Story Telling Totem Pole outside.  Upon returning to Raven, Greg and Mare stopped by for a nice chat, sharing stories about their trip.  We set a plan to rendezvous at St John Bay where we would raft up and head the next day to our halibut fishing spot.

The next morning as we finished up calls and chores, Lois spotted an Orca in the channel directly across from us.  It was concerning as it’s dorsal had a curl at the tip and it was making slow progress getting back out of the channel.
