August 8, 2023 - Lowe Inlet

With the blustery winds from the previous day behind us, we had a relatively calm trip under light drizzle and occasional fog patches.  As we entered the inlet Somewhere in Time was anchored in front of the falls.  Hailing us he shared a bear could be seen at the falls, he had 280’ of scope out and his boat swings 180˚ from the anchor ball he had placed, which was a substantial distance from the boat.  Taking the hint, we moved a considerable distance from him in the corner area.  Eviva was behind us and entered, anchoring in the middle of the inlet.  Soon two other boats, Keeper of the Stars and Mirabella, arrived and anchor in the very vicinity we were considering!  He clearly was trying to save the area for his travelling partners and is now on the blacklist!!  As the drizzle eased, we both took turns rowing around the inlet, spotting the black bear in the waterfall and grabbing a salmon out of the fall.

The next morning, we watched SiT haul up their anchor and indeed, the ball was the location of his anchor, quite the scope they had laid!
