We had settled conditions as we made our way north (Environment Canada had a strong wind warning). As we approached Prideaux Haven, we noticed a vessel anchored at our preferred location, so we pressed on to Laura Cove. While one other vessel was in the cove, the center area was open leaving us a preferred anchorage. Once settled, we spotted river otters and a Red Necked Grebe. As rain had started to fall, we decided to try out the smoker and smoke some ribs.
The next day the rain showers were intermittent, and we were able to find a weather window to kayak. We headed back through the cut to Prideaux Haven where we spotted two other boats at anchor, and one in Melanie Cove. We returned by coming around Copplestone Island just as a squall came through.
After getting the kayaks stored, we were ready to BBQ a nice flank steak and relax for dinner.
