With a somewhat cloudy day and a forecast for Small Craft Advisory in Chatham for tomorrow, we decided to head to Tenakee where we could crab and take in the town. With multiple calls to the harbormaster, we finally received a response and instructions to tie up at either A or D dock. We opted for A dock as there were available power pedestals. As we pulled in we found the available space tight as the Kady-Krogen Brut had left space behind them open leaving us about 60’ of dock space. As we tied to the dock, we soon realize we had a bit of current pushing us towards Brut. Fortunately, David from Brut was there to help us and halt our motion as we finished securing the boat. Given it was late in the day, Beth and Geary headed out to drop one crab pot before having dinner on the flybridge.

The next morning, we woke to a rainy day to which Geary headed out to retrieve the crab pot. Enroute, he was accompanied by Dahls porpoise for several minutes. Pretty exciting to see them at water level! Pulling up the pot was a bit disappointing as, it had only two big keepers. It was time to reset the pot to an improved location. And to better our haul, the second pot was also dropped with the plan to retrieve them both the next morning as we left. Returning to Ravenwe walked to the town and out past the library for a two-mile round-trip walk. We finished the evening with a nice crab dinner and clearing skies.
