 July 3, 2024 - Whitestone Harbor

We anchored in the nook on the north side of the harbor which offered protection from any wave action that might find its way into the harbor.  Later, we were joined by another boat, Rosemary, from Hoonah anchoring nearby.  We had a quiet and restful night after our long haul from Haines and awoke at low tide, with Rosemary already gone.  And we noticed a rock opposite us to the west of the nook.  Suspect Rosemary knew this which is why she anchored closer to us versus the opposite side of the nook.  After a leisurely morning, when we decided it was time to leave, we spotted a brown bear on the shore off our bow.  Geary stepped out to get photos, perhaps disturbing the bear, as it soon turned and headed back into the trees.
