August 11, 2024 - Newcombe Harbour
We left Sunday morning after collecting our catch from the packaging company. With calm conditions we headed down the outer route. A pleasant start to our trip – wind and sea conditions were settled. There would be opportunity to turn inland should the conditions deteriorate. With a late start, and looking for new anchorages, we stopped in at Newcombe Harbour. An interesting place, with a few crab pots sprinkled in the bay. We settled in and had a lovely dinner – salmon with butter and brown sugar on the BBQ.
The next morning as we pulled up the anchor we could hear a Sandhill Crane – Shawn was able to spot a pair along the far shore. We left the harbour under the watchful eye of a pair of eagles.
