August 17 - 19, 2024 - Port Hardy / Port McNeil

We woke to the beginnings of a sunny day only to find a blanket of fog awaiting us outside the anchorage.  The entire journey was made in dense fog, only clearing as we approached Port Hardy.  Port Hardy was our first stop to drop off Shawn where he could return to his car and meet us at Port McNeil, our final stop.  As we pulled into Port Hardy two tall ships pass us – headed for the fuel dock.  Turns out they are part of the S-A-L-T-S (Sail and Life Training Society) program for young people.  Lowering the tender, we get Shawn safely to shore, recover the tender and continue to Port McNeil where we have our final meal together before parting.

Sunday morning, Shawn and Eve bid us farewell before a rainstorm arrives.  The rest of the day Geary spends resting as Lois tidies up the boat.

Monday Geary is doing much better and is recovering well.  Lois heads off for provisions planning on a Tuesday departure.
