September 3, 2024 - Tribune Bay

We departed along the outside of Copeland Islands, passing Savary Island, entering Shearwater Passage.  As we passed along the north side of Texada, we saw a lot of humpback whale activity along the island and into the Strait of Georgia.  As we crossed the Strait there was a mayday call at 10:43 AM about a kayaker in the water in Union Bay – help was quick to arrive.  As we entered Tribune Bay, we found a good anchorage spot, lowered the kayaks, and went for a shore landing and a beach walk, finishing up with a kayak tour of the bay.  By sunset, there were 30 boats in the bay!
