April 30, 2025 -Tribune Bay

We had an easy crossing into Canada.  Despite all our worries, the CBP agent was gracious and did not give us any grief – easy clearance with 11 bottles of wine.  We continued the clearing process, stopping at the Montague Harbor dock.  After waiting 15 minutes, we headed out to Dodd Narrows, passed behind Ballenas Islands, and onto Hornby Island. Anchoring in Tribune Bay, we found only two other boats – not the typical crowed situation.

The next morning, as we pulled anchor, there was a piece of metal, like a thin washer, that came out of the windlass on the port side.  Since we were headed to Campbell River, we contacted Ocean Pacific Marine to schedule a check of the windlass (and to replace the throttle rocker switch).
