Arriving with the ebb tide, we had about 5 kts of current pushing us along. We carefully lined up to enter the harbour, and as we entered, we had two opposing boats head out, plus a boat adjacent to our slip that wanted to back out as we were backing in! Lois did an excellent job handling the conflicts and getting Raven safely docked. After settling in we got busy on the provisions.
The next day, Cam (Cameron) came to the boat and very quickly determined how to replace the transmission rocker switch with the new, black, lighted switch I purchased at Ocean Pacific. After that it was taking the windlass chain wheels off to determine what had come out of the starboard chain wheel. It became a bit of a challenge as the part stacking did not match the manual. Fortunately, Mark Tilden and Less Dobbe arrived to say hello and quickly jumped in to share their knowledge and experience with similar situations. Fortunately, everything looked proper, and the only issue is that a “wavey washer” had come out of the starboard windlass. The purpose of the washer is to hold the emergency crank collar against the chain wheel in for use in the manual raising of the anchor. Cam completed servicing of the windlass (less the washer) and we are all set! Next, provisions, haircut, and dinner at Harbour Grill where we run into Less, Rosemary, Mark and Roseanne. (Greg Larkin stopped by earlier to say hello as he was at Ocean Pacific checking up on True Grit).
