May 3, 2025 -Sprout Island Cove

An early start had us bucking 1 – 2 kts at Seymour Narrows with the objective of taking maximum advantage of the ebb current through Johnstone Strait.  As we passed through Seymour Narrows, there was a disappointing hail on ch. 16: “American boat in Seymour Narrows – go home”.  We left it unanswered and continued making good time through Discovery Passage and Johnstone Strait as the tide/current changed, making it to Sprout Island Cove, a lovely anchorage which we wanted to revisit.  Mark was following us and was concerned about reports of cruise ship wakes in the cove.  I checked and assured him there were no cruise ships scheduled, and we should be fine – only to double check later and realize there would be two cruise ships headed our way.  Fortunately, neither one of us felt anything from the cruise ships and had a pleasant night sleep.  Lois even got a short row around the cove before Koinonia arrived.
