We took a delayed start for winds to settle before heading to Stephens Island where we fished last year as a charter.  We arrived around 10:00 AM and started trolling at the north end with all the other small fish boats.  After a couple of passes and some tangled rigg issues, we move further south along with shortening the hoochie leader line length.  We had a couple of strikes; however, they got off before we could get them to the boat.  On the third strike, Geary managed to bring in a beautiful 28” coho.  We continued trolling towards Congreve Point, with one more strike and a small ling cod landing.  By 1:00 PM we decided it was time to move on and headed for Grenville Channel.  Entering the channel, we began to get a good current push, so we pressed on taking advantage of the push reaching 11 knots at its peak.  We decided to ride the current, as long as we had daylight, making it down Grenville Channel by dusk to settle in at Coghlan.  Long day, and we put a lot of miles behind us – which was the goal – as we have a weather window for Cape Caution on Friday we want to make.
